V-Twin Motorcycle Engine Optimization Analysis

Analysis optimization using WAVE Cycle Analysis and iSight Optimization Framework, The methodology is applied to analyze the power output of a Harley-Davidson Spark-ignition V-Twin engine as a function of the complex design parameters fifteen (15 controllable factors.) Optimization framework requires using three-step optimization plan: 1. Experiment Design techniques (Latin Hypercubes) (1) to refine the design space, and estimate the optimal design. Methodology described above allows optimization in the early phases of design and minimize the need for machinery is expensive and time-consuming hardware testing (Rapid Prototyping), thus reducing cycle time analysis, and product development. As far as engine performance analysis is concerned, the machine can be described accurately by using the thermodynamic cycle. Other sophisticated machine computational model can be integrated into a complete engine cycle simulation to predict engine performance in accordance with the provision that the data on the machine geometry, as well as more general aspects of the cycle operation is provided. Optimization of work discussed in this paper is related to the performance of a Harley-Davidson Spark-ignition V-Twin engine that is used primarily in automotive applications such as motorcycles.
