In this tutorial, you will create two parts; a shelf and a bracket. You will “assemble” them into one unit.
Finally, you will generate drawings to work from.
1. Open Solidworks. If you are asked during startup, select METRIC units.2. Open up a new file by clicking on the new file icon in the top menu bar.

3. Select “part” from the dialog box that appears.

4. You are going to sketch a 2-dimensional image of a shelf that is 450mm long and 135mm wide. Then, you will turn it into a 3-Dimensional object by “extruding” it.
